Discover the best via ferratas in Huesca. With this activity, you'll explore the Sorrosal via ferrata and the Foradada del Toscar via ferrata in Aragon.

A via ferrata is a sporting route located on a wall in a natural setting. The first via ferrata in Europe was installed in 1843 in Austria when the most used route to the Hoher Dachstein peak was being prepared, with the aim of making it more accessible.

A via ferrata is equipped with various materials such as nails, staples, holds, ladders, etc. Safety is provided by a steel cable covered in a plastic sheath and installed along the entire route.

If you're interested, let us continue teaching you more about the history and we'll move on to the practical aspects.

Day 1: Madrid-Ainsa-Sobrarbe

Group pick-up at Atocha at 7:00 am. Our journey begins here, heading towards the Pyrenees, stopping in Zaragoza if anyone wishes to be picked up there. Before arriving in Ainsa, we will complete the Puente via ferrata in the Sierra de Guara, level K1. Overnight stay in Ainsa, a medieval village.

Day 2: Sorrosal Via Ferrata

After breakfast, we will head to Broto, where the via ferrata is located. The first section will cover the famous Sorrosal waterfall, which in two sections spans 120 meters of elevation gain. The equipment will not leave us indifferent due to its ingenuity. After crossing the drainage tunnel of the ravine, the via ferrata takes us through the final section. The water flows 5 meters below us until we reach the third section, the exit of the ravine, with a vertical section of 12 meters. The descent is via an easy PR route.

Free afternoon to visit Torla and return to Ainsa. Accommodation at the same hostel.

Day 2: Foradada del Toscar Via Ferrata

Early in the morning, we'll head to Foradada del Toscar, where a complete via ferrata is located in an old climbing area. With mixed sections, some very vertical and others horizontal, it's very entertaining in its central section, where we'll cross a Tibetan bridge and climb a spectacular spire. From here, the traverse takes us to another Tibetan bridge and ends at an easier section.

After the via ferrata, we'll have lunch in the area and begin the return trip, passing through Zaragoza at 4:00 PM and arriving in Madrid at 8:00 PM.
