A via ferrata is a sporting route located on a wall in a natural setting. The first via ferrata in Europe was installed in 1843 in Austria when the most used route to the Hoher Dachstein peak was being prepared, with the aim of making it more accessible.
A via ferrata is equipped with various materials such as nails, staples, holds, ladders, etc. Safety is provided by a steel cable covered in a plastic sheath and installed along the entire route.
