Trekking in Moño de la Tía Andrea

PVP
25 €

The pine forests of Valsaín have long been objects of desire, whether for their forestry, scenic, or wildlife treasures. Princes and kings built palaces there, and a strong industry developed in the midst of the logging industry, where lumberjacks, rogues, innkeepers, and traders coexisted in harmony.

Thanks to the care of the foresters, this wonderful forest has been left to us, which we want to discover with you on one of the best hiking trails and excursions in Segovia.

We'll start in Valsaín, where you can see the ruins of the ancient Trastámara hunting lodge. Then we'll continue through a magnificent common pasture to the Puente de los Canales, a place worth another stop.

It's time to enter the forest, so, ascending gently, we'll reach the Cueva del Monje, a place steeped in demonic legend. From here, the ascent steepens, but at our leisurely pace, we'll reach the Chorranca, a small and beautiful waterfall among the pines.

We'll soon reach the highest point and climb to the Moño de la Tía Andrea, where the chair carved for King Francis of Assisi, who, along with his royal wife, liked to relax in these places, is located.

A secluded descent among pines and streams will take us out of the forest and we'll return to our starting point in Valsaín.
