With this beginner's avalanche and avalanche course, you'll practice the relevant training to both avoid avalanches and implement rescue techniques in case they occur.
If a person is caught in an avalanche and buried under snow, after 18 minutes, the percentage of survival and being found alive drops dramatically. In most cases, victims who survived an avalanche were rescued by their own companions.
It's very difficult for rescue teams to travel, locate the avalanche site, organize the search, and find the victims in less than 18 minutes. Often, by the time they arrive, it's already too late, and their mission is to search for and recover the bodies.
