Peryreget Ridge, Petit Pic d'Ossau, and Grand Pic Traverse
Difficulty: AD. The main difficulty of this route does not lie in its individual steps, which do not exceed grade III (and grade IV- on the descent to La Fourche from Petit Pic). However, the difficulty is very sustained, initially on a ridge and then on a large wall.
Vertical gain: 1,000 m approach to the ridge
Approximately 500 m on the ridge (approximately 2.5 km route)
Time: 2-3 hours approach
4-6 hours on the ridge
2-3 hours descent (in spring, if there is snow, the descent can be much faster)

The traverse of the two main peaks of the Midi d'Ossau is one of the great classics of the Pyrenees.
It was once called THE TWINS because of its two peaks, which are so close together. The summit is called GRAND PIC (2,884 m), and next to it is PETIC PIC (2,804 m).
The ascent of Petit Pic alone is worth a visit, as it will put our skills to the test. Once at the summit, we will discover the majestic tower of Grand Pic and the La Fourche pass, which we will have to descend using rappelling techniques.
The ascent of Grand Pic will begin by crossing the famous Plateaus Grises, where we will have to fine-tune our movements, before beginning a succession of chimneys and climbs over the chasms on the northwest slope that will bring us close to the summit.
We will descend via the normal route on the East Face, where we will climb down several chimneys before reaching solid ground.
