The Classic Climbing course is for climbers who want to venture into mountain terrain. This course will teach you how to tackle completely unequipped, multi-pitch routes independently and safely.
The course objectives are:
To master the techniques and acquire the knowledge to climb unequipped, multi-pitch routes as a lead climber.
The minimum requirements for this course are:
To master climbing V+ routes and to have knowledge of rappelling and rappelling techniques.

The Yurok guide will meet you at the established meeting point, and the course content will include:
Specific equipment and materials: Harness, rope, auxiliary lanyards and straps, brake plates, safety carabiners, anchor line, climbing shoes.
Locating floating anchors: Passive anchors, Active anchors, Rotational anchors.
Knots:
Rope-in knots: Double figure eight.
Lashing or anchoring knots: Lark's head, Clove hitch.
Joining knots: Gaping knot, Fisherman's knot, Figure eight with facing and parallel lines, Flat knot.
Self-locking knots: Prusik, Single and Double Bound.
Braking knots: Dynamic.
Setting up anchors on fixed, mobile, and temporary anchors: Physics of anchors and requirements, Fixed anchors, Mobile anchors, and horizontal and vertical anchors.
Techniques for stopping a lead or lead partner: Dynamic stops. Fortunate knots.
Progression techniques and mobile belay placement: Single rope climbing, double rope climbing, twin rope climbing.
Aid climbing techniques up to A2: Stirrup technique and handling.
Climbing logistics on equipped multi-pitch routes: Overview/sketches, time calculations, weather forecasts.
Essential equipment: first aid kit, mobile phone, water, food, etc.
Risk management: Most common accidents. (PAS)
€215 per person
Each group is composed of a maximum of 2 participants. If the minimum number of 2 participants per day is not reached, the activity will be canceled, and the booked participants will be notified at least 3 days in advance.
The ratio will always be 1 instructor per 4 participants.
A spot is considered reserved once 100% of the activity fee has been paid.

Minimum recommended equipment per person:
Comfortable mountain clothing appropriate for the current temperature, hiking shoes or boots,
Sun hat, sunglasses,
Sunscreen and lip cream,
Water (1.5 liters minimum),
Something to eat. We don't recommend too much of it, as experience tells us that after a heavy meal, what you want is a nap and not to climb again.
