This course is designed for those who want to begin climbing equipped multi-pitch routes. Classes are designed to acquire the technical level necessary to lead the rope.

The Yurok guide will meet you at the designated meeting point.
The course will cover:
Objective: Choosing a realistic objective and how to find it.
Climbing logistics on equipped multi-pitch routes: Overview/sketches, time calculations, weather forecasts.
Essential equipment: First aid kit, mobile phone, water, food, etc.
Specific equipment and supplies: Harness, rope, auxiliary lanyards, brake plates, safety carabiners, permanent anchors, helmet, climbing shoes, stirrups, and a chalk bag. How to organize your gear in your harness and quickly place it on the pitch.
Knots: Tying-in: Double figure eight; Lashing or anchoring: Lark's head, Clove hitch; Joining: Gap, Fisherman's hitch, Figure eight with facing and parallel ends, Plain knot. Self-locking knots: Single and double bight. Braking: Dynamic.
Applied Physics: Impact Force, Fall Factor
Setting up anchors on fixed anchors: Physics of anchors and requirements, Fixed anchors, simple but solid anchors with rings and the rope itself. Correct use of the anchor line.
Braking and belaying techniques: Dynamic belay devices, Belaying the lead rope leader, Belaying the second rope leader, One- and two-second belays.
Rope progression and placement techniques: Single rope climbing, double rope climbing (traditional alternating clipping, modern alternating clipping, twin rope climbing, twin clipping).
Safety techniques: Maneuvering and setting up reliable and unreliable rappels, troubleshooting, and risk prevention in climbing.
Rappelling techniques: Single rappel, fractional rappels
Risk management: Most common accidents. (PAS)
PVP = €155 per person
Each group is composed of a maximum of 4 participants. If the minimum number of 2 participants per day is not reached, the activity will be canceled, and the booked participants will be notified at least 3 days in advance.
The ratio will always be 1 instructor per 4 participants.
A spot is considered reserved once 100% of the activity fee has been paid.

Minimum recommended equipment per person:
Comfortable mountain clothing appropriate for the current temperature, hiking shoes or boots,
Sun hat, sunglasses,
Sunscreen and lip cream,
Water (at least 1.5 l),
Something to eat. We don't recommend too much of it, as experience tells us that after a heavy meal, what you want is a nap and not to climb again.
