General Conditions and Rules of Use of the Yurok Facility

1. Scope

These General Conditions and Rules of Use govern the relationship between the user and/or their legal representative and El Centro de Formación de Escalada S.L., hereinafter Yurok, during their stay at the facilities and/or during their participation in any activity organized by the entity.

The Yurok facilities include:

- Climbing walls requiring belay ropes and/or self-belay systems.
- Bouldering areas.
- Specific equipment area.
- Multipurpose room.
- Changing rooms.
- Cafeteria.
- Terrace and outdoor spaces.

2. Informed consent.

The user and/or their legal representative acknowledge:

a. Understand that climbing in the various forms that can be practiced at Yurok is a sporting activity that is not without risk. Although it can be greatly reduced through proper use of the facility, adopting appropriate safety measures, and following these Rules of Use, there are inherent and unforeseen risks.

b. Have received sufficient information about the characteristics of the activity and have read these General Conditions and Rules of Use.

c. Be in adequate physical and mental condition to participate in the activity, and have no illness or physical limitation that would prevent it, or that could develop during its development.

d. Know and accept that my participation entails a risk to my physical integrity and that of others.

e. I acknowledge and accept that the risks of participating in the activity cannot be fully controlled, neither by the user nor by Yurok Climbing, and I assume the potential negative consequences that may arise from the activity, provided that Yurok has not acted with due diligence, manifest bad faith, or negligence, given the circumstances.

f. I have been informed and accept that, if I have a health problem, Yurok Climbing will provide me with free on-site assistance, limited exclusively to first aid provided by non-medical personnel and, if necessary, stabilization until the relevant authorities at the health center or hospital deem it necessary for Emergency Services. This excludes medical equipment, medicines, surgical treatments, or other treatments that must be provided by medical personnel.

g. In the event that a minor under 16 years of age participates under the user's guardianship, the assumptions and declarations in this document include the minor.

3. Opening Hours and Access Restrictions

Yurok Climbing's opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

4. Access to Facilities.

Registration at reception is mandatory to access Yurok facilities. The user represents and guarantees that the personal information provided is accurate and truthful and undertakes to keep it updated at all times.

5. Minors.

Minors may only access Yurok facilities with the express consent of at least one legal representative. The legal representative agrees that the minor may use the facilities and/or participate in Yurok activities in accordance with these Terms of Use. All minors under the age of 16 must be supervised and accompanied by an adult. Yurok may deny registration for activities, entry to the facilities, or restrict access to minors for reasons of safety or inappropriate behavior.

6. Prices and Conditions.

All prices and conditions are available on our website www.yurok.es and at the facilities. In the event of any discrepancies, the most recent published version will be binding.

7. General Terms of Use.

You must register at the reception desk upon entering Yurok and return any rented or borrowed materials upon exiting. Please exercise caution, common sense, and courtesy at all times.

Smoking and drug use are prohibited both inside and outside Yurok.

Alcohol may only be sold to those over 18 years of age and consumed in the designated area of ​​the cafeteria.

Anyone showing any signs of alcohol or drug intoxication will be denied entry. Drinks and food must be consumed in the cafeteria.
Access to sealed-off areas, private areas, and areas marked "authorized personnel only" and "no entry" is prohibited. If you need assistance, please contact Yurok staff.

Only Yurok staff or individuals authorized by Yurok may teach classes. Anyone else teaching for a fee will be asked to leave Yurok premises and may have their right to enter revoked without compensation. Any problems with the climbing walls, equipment, installation, or misbehavior by any user must be reported directly to Yurok staff. The good practice, health, and safety signage posted throughout Yurok facilities must be followed at all times.

8. Rules for rope climbing, self-belaying, and bouldering.

The specific rules for rope climbing and self-belaying:

- Liquid and powdered magnesium may be used. However, you must be responsible with the magnesium; we all breathe in the dust.

- Each person is responsible for their own climbing equipment and ensuring it is in perfect condition.

- Each person is responsible for knowing how to use climbing equipment when climbing on sport climbing walls. Yurok is not responsible for any accidents caused by misuse of the equipment.

- Climbing is only permitted in climbing shoes, never in sneakers.

- A helmet is mandatory at all times, whether climbing on a rope, leading, or with self-belaying.

- Any rope maneuvers during descents, such as rappelling, rope changes, etc., are prohibited.

- The use of any belay device other than a semi-automatic one is prohibited.

Specific rules for bouldering:

- Liquid and powdered chalk may be used. However, you must be responsible with the chalk; we all breathe in the powder.

- You may not climb with the chalk bag on the boulder.

- The chalk bag must be kept separate from the mats.

- You may not step on the mat while wearing sneakers.

- You may only climb boulders in climbing shoes.

- You may not climb boulders while wearing a harness or with the chalk bag.

9. Specific rules for groups and courses.

Any group or course organized outside of the center's activities must inform the center to confirm its implementation.

10. Personal Belongings.

Personal belongings and equipment must be stored only in lockers or designated areas. Yurok is not responsible for items that may be lost or stolen in any of the facilities, including parking areas, or in particular, for items left in lockers. Yurok recommends that users not bring any valuables into the facilities or leave them in lockers.

11. Notification in the event of a defect.

The user agrees to immediately notify Yurok staff of any deterioration or problem observed at the center. This will create a safer environment for users and eliminate potential risks. Failure to notify will entail relevant legal consequences for negligent behavior.

12. Non-compliance.

Non-compliance with these rules will result in automatic expulsion from the facilities and permanent termination as a Yurok client without compensation. Yurok reserves the right to limit or deny admission to the facilities for reasons of safety or inappropriate behavior.

13. Additional Provisions

Yurok may modify, develop, and update these General Conditions and their annexes. Such changes will take effect immediately upon publication on the facilities and website. In the event of differences, the binding version will be dated later.

14. COVID-19 Responsible Declaration

They declare that they have received information and instructions on COVID-19 prevention and containment measures and that they do not suffer from any symptoms or suspicions of the same. They also acknowledge and voluntarily accept the risk of COVID-19 infection that comes with participating in any group activity.
