Day 1: Madrid-Andorra
Departure at 8:00 a.m. from Plaza Castilla (Madrid). Travel to Andorra, staying at a hotel in Andorra. Free afternoon in Andorra.
Day 2: Cirque dels Pessons
A very varied route that combines an initial section through high-mountain glacial lakes with a second route through summits with superb panoramic views. We depart from the Grau Roig ski resort to follow the GR7 markings that border the Primer, Forcat, Rodo, Les Fonts, and Capdels Pessons lakes before reaching the Collada dels Pessons (2,775 m). Here we turn east to head along the ridge to Pico dels Pessons (2,864 m), Pic Rubuls, and Pic Montmalús, before descending to the Collada de Montmalús and returning to Grau Roig (14 km, 664 m ascent and descent, 5 h). Free afternoon.
Day 3. Ransoll Valley
After breakfast, we will head to the Ransoll Valley, on the border with France. From the parking lot at the bottom of the valley, we will ascend to the Coms de Jan refuge, from where we will ascend to the dels Meners pass (2,719 m), crossing the glacial lakes of the Ransoll valley. Completing a circular route, we will return to the parking lot (14 km, with a 680 m ascent and descent). Return to the hotel. Dinner.
Day 4: Pic de Casamanya
Located almost in the center of Andorra, this peak offers views of the entire Principality and sweeping panoramic views of Andorra's main peaks. A beautiful ascent from the Col d'Ordino by rope to the two peaks (north and south, 2,752 m) is offered. From the Col d'Arenes, we will descend along the Montaup River and, passing through the Mereig Forest, we will finish at the Col d'Ordino (13 km, with an ascent and descent of 710 m). Return to the hotel. Dinner.
Day 5: Madriu River Valley
One of the most beautiful hikes in Andorra. The GR11 trans-Pyrenean trail (Cantabrian-Mediterranean) uses the Madriu Valley to cross Andorra and continue through Catalonia. After visiting the Romanesque church of Sant Miquel d'Engolasters, our route departs from the Engolasters Lake, following the GR11 markings to enter this landscape nestled between high mountains and graced by continuous waterfalls. Going up the Madriu River through the pine forests, we reach the Fontverd refuge. We'll return along the same route (17 km, 400 m incline and descent). Free time in Andorra la Vella.
Day 6: Pic de Coma Pedrosa
After breakfast, we'll leave the hotel and head to Arinsal, at the foot of whose ski resort we'll begin our hike up to Coma Pedrosa, which, at 2,939 m, is the highest peak in Andorra. We'll follow the GR11 markings along a varied ascent, first through forest, then through meadows, bordering the Estany Negre, and finally climb a rocky ridge with superb views (14 km, with a 1,350 m elevation gain and descent). We'll return along the same route. Free time to visit Ordino, the cultural capital of the Principality of Andorra.
Day 7: Lakes Tour
We will travel to the Incles Valley to begin the route at the Baladosa Bridge and ascend to the Incles Pass, descending through French territory to the Fontargenta and Juclar lakes, before ascending the Juclar Pass, where we will return to Andorra. Here, the Primer and Segon de Juclar lakes, as well as the Juclar refuge, await us before finishing at the Baladosa Bridge parking lot (17 km, approximately 590 m of ascent and descent).
Day 8: Sorteny Natural Park
We will hike through one of the most important Andorran valleys in the principality, a highly scenic area, declared a UNESCO Natural Park and home to more than 600 different species of flora, 60 of which are endemic to the Pyrenees. The route begins in the town of Serrat and continues up the Rialb River to the Sorteny mountain refuge. The trail then crosses the Rabassa forest and descends through the Rialb Valley to the town of Serrat. This is the end of the route (12 km, with approximately 400 m of ascent and descent).
Day 9: Andorra-Madrid
After breakfast, we will head to the Sierra del Cadí mountain range, where we will undertake a short hike (8 km), after which we will begin our return journey to Madrid.
